When the music starts, go!

That's how we know when the Airsoft (Shawn calls it "Airstrike", but he's a little off.) battles begin. We played for quite a while this past Saturday, and then Shawn had the great idea to play again Sunday afternoon/evening for the teen guys' small group. Saturday was fun, we had 2 teams of about 6 players, and we had some good battles. I was only shot twice, once in the back by Dawson (With my own gun! Not right!) and once by Drew in the arm. Huh, I was shot by 2 of my favorite people. Ironic, yes?
Anyway, Sunday night's shootouts were different. For one thing we had a bunch of guys, so we split into 3 teams. Which was pretty cool, because while 2 teams were killing each other, the other team was talking and fellowshipping and such. Anyway, we had some new guys there, some without any equipment, but everyone was cool about loaning out their guns and goggles and BBs, so it worked out. (I got on eBay and bought another couple guns, and Josh P. bought another one to share, so we should have plenty next time!) I know what you're all wanting to know, how many times and where did I get hit. The answer is 4 times, and all upside my head. Once in the left temple (I think that was Ty F. Thanks buddy.), once on the right cheek (It bled, once again it was Dawson with my gun. I am seeing a pattern here...), and twice on the chin, shooters unknown. They both bled. Ers called me "pockmark face". That hurt worse than getting shot! One of the best things to come out of Sunday nights games was that I think that it brought us all a bit closer together. We weren't the sponsors and the church kids and the skaters and the newguys and etc., we were just "the guys" shooting each other, sharing Taco flavored Doritos (Thanks Drew!), telling stories of just missing, and just hanging out. Like it should be, I think. I'd like to think that God looks at us like that. Not as skaters or jocks or brains or goths or whatever, but just as his children. Know what I mean?
To all you new guys that played with us like Red-Drew and Cody, Mason and Dillon, Clay and Alex, Jeremy and Scott, thanks for playing. It was great. Please come to small group again this Sunday. We are going to Jeff's house (I shot him once, in the side. He was a good sport, and only slapped me twice!) and we will be meeting with the girls this time. So wear your cootie repellent, and we'll see you then!
One more thing, hit up my website
http://hhjr.hughesorama.com/ to see pictures of Ryne and Shawn and others. I change it every so often. Nice picture,Shawnie!
Later days,
HHJr

I'm glad to have some current church friends on blogger. Most of the people I keep up with on here are friends from my youth group.

I enjoyed reading your blog. And I think you're right about that's the way God must look at us. We get so caught up in differences, but not God. I look forward to reading more. I subscribed to your feed so now I can see any time you post something new.
